Dr. Bridget Sikkes joined the OVH team in
June of 2000 after working in a mixed animal practice in Northwest NJ for 3
years, and a small animal practice in Morris County for 2 years. In 2005, Dr. Sikkes returned briefly to that
area to practice, but then rejoined OVH in August of 2007.
Dr. Sikkes earned her Bachelor of Science
degree in Animal Science from Cornell University in 1987; a Masters Degree in
Animal Science from the University of Kentucky in 1991; and a Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995.
Dr. Sikkes recently moved to Eatontown and
shares her home with Miss Kitty, a 19-year-old feline adopted from Houston,
TX. Miss Kitty loves to travel and
enjoys everyone. She also has Smokey
Joe, a 12½-year- old Border Terrier who was adopted many years ago, and enjoys
a good squirrel chase or a good game of ball toss. Dr. Sikkes' extended family also includes
Tigger, a 10-year-old feline who pretends to be a mighty mouse hunter in the
garage. Tigger also hails from Texas.
Dr. Sikkes' outside interests are many, but
she mostly enjoys the outdoors: walking,
biking and kayaking the most. She shares
her love of animals and the outdoors with 3 wonderful nieces (soon to be 4),
who all seem to have a little bit of their Auntie in them.
