Doctor Elsa Schock

Dr. Schock joined the OVH team in 2007. Dr. Schock earned her undergraduate bachelor degree in animal science from Cook College, Rutgers University in 2002.  She then received her DVM degree from Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.

After her graduation from Cornell, she completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in NYC from 2006-2007.

Dr. Schock is the proud mom of her beloved dog Frisby, who is a 7 year old mixed breed. She acquired Frisby during her first year of veterinary school when she was rescued from a house filled with over 100 abandoned and starved dogs. Frisby has since recovered from many behavioral and health issues associated with her abuse, but is still obsessed with food!

In addition she also shares her home with her four cats Nemo, Paulie, Cosmo, & Jaime and her husband Dr. Zach Weiner, who also works at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Schock has interest in all aspects of veterinary medicine, but a special interest in the fields of weight control in cats & dogs, oral and dental care and soft tissue surgery.
