Dr. Wefer has been practicing veterinary
medicine for over 20 years since receiving his DVM degree from Purdue
University in Indiana in 1982. His undergraduate studies earned him a BS degree
in Animal Science from Cook College, a part of Rutgers University in 1978.
After working in a small animal hospital in
East Brunswick in the early eighties, Drs. Wefer and his business partner, Dr.
Delaney, founded the Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in November of 1986.
Dr. Wefer, a native of New Jersey, has been
a resident of Ocean Township since 1987. He and his wife Renée, have been
married since 1982. They have two daughters; Katelyn who attends Ithaca College,
and Caryln who attends the Academy of Allied Health and Science. The Wefer
family also consists of 1 Miniature Schnauzers, a Lhasa Apsa, a Shih Tzu
and a canary.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Wefer
enjoys fishing and traveling with is family. In addition he enjoys playing
golf.
