BOARDING POLICIES
• VACCINATIONS: All pets must be up to date with vaccinations:
Dogs: DHPP, Rabies, and Bordetella
Cats: FVRCP and Rabies
If not immunized at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, proof of vaccination must be shown. If proof is not obtainable, the vaccine(s) required will be given upon your pet's arrival. This is to protect your pet as well as others.
• FLEAS: All pets are checked for fleas on admission to the hospital/kennel. If fleas are found, your pet will be treated with Capstar Oral Flea Treatment at the owner's expense. This will make your pet more comfortable during it's visit and will maintain our hospital as a flea-free environment.
• MEDICAL TREATMENTS: If you pet becomes ill or injures itself while at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, all medical and surgical treatments will be performed to insure the health and well being of your pet. Every effort will be made to contact you in the event of an emergency. All medical and surgical services are preformed at the owner's expense.
• PERSONAL BELONGINGS:
We discourage our boarders from bringing personal belongings from home, as we provide all the supplies and accessories that your pet will require for his stay with us. We furnish your pets sleeping area with a plush fleece pad and we happily provide treats and toys, as well as food and water bowls. You may still bring your own blanket or toy from home, these items can be lost or damaged during routine cleaning and maintenance. Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital is not responsible for the loss or damage of any items that are left with your pet.
• FOOD:
You may bring your own pet food from home, or you can arrange to have your pet be fed one of our premium diets. We offer Science Diet foods, both wet and dry food – in a variety of flavors to tempt even the pickiest eater. We also have special diets available for special needs pets.
• DISCHARGE: Pets will only be discharged to their owner. If your pet is to be picked up by someone other than yourself, written permission must be received when dropping your pet off. Pets cannot be discharged from the hospital when the office is closed. Because of safety and insurance reasons, there are no exceptions.
