Electrocardiography

Golden Retriever Marshall is a perfect patient.

The electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a diagnostic tool that measures and records the electrical activity of the heart.

If the doctor feels an ECG is necessary, your pet will be taken to a quiet, stress free area to get an accurate reading. The ECG machine picks up electrical activity on the surface of the body that is sent from the heart. This information is displayed on a screen as a series of waves that can be interpreted by our veterinarians to determine if your pet’s heart’s activity is normal.
