Laboratory

Blood and urine testing is an essential part of veterinary diagnostics.  Many of the same tests that are run on humans are also used in the diagnosis of animal diseases.  Some of these tests can be performed on-the-spot with our in-house diagnostic laboratory.  Other tests are performed by outside labs with results received usually in less than 24 hours.

The hospital is staffed with compassionate, trained animal health technicians who can acquire these samples with minimal stress to your pet.

Complete blood counts, blood chemistry analysis, urinalysis, fecal examination for intestinal parasites, cytology of lumps and bumps, bacteriologic identification and sensitivity testing are just a few of the tests that can be done to aid in the diagnosis of pet diseases.

In most cases, results are received and reported within 24 hours

  • Rapid in-house testing for tick-borne diseases, heartworm disease, Feline Leukemia, Feline AIDS, pancreatic disease, and others.
  • Sate of the art digital microscope for blood smears, cytology, urine sediment evaluation, and pathology.
  • In-house microbiology lab for rapid detection of bacteria, fungi, ringworm, and antibiotic sensitivity.
