Dr. Danielle Rawlins was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!). Her love of animals started at a very young age and she always knew her goal was to become a small animal veterinarian. Animal Science and Zoology were important factors in her choosing the University of New Hampshire for her undergrad/pre-vet degree. After graduation and before applying to vet school, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to work two full time jobs at a thriving veterinary hospital and a busy restaurant and brewery.
Dr. Rawlins graduated from the beautiful University of Prince Edward Island, Atlantic Veterinary College, in 2003. After many previous summers as a server and bartender on Long Beach Island, she knew the Jersey Shore was where she wanted to live, work and play. Dr. Rawlins was hired as an associate veterinarian at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital 15+ years ago. She lives in Asbury Park and loves spending time there. Her professional interests include a passion for dentistry, internal medicine, infectious diseases and geriatric pet care. She values forming lifelong relationships with her clients and patients.
Outside of the hospital she enjoys sharing home cooked meals and a delicious glass of wine with family and friends on LBI, stand up paddle boarding, traveling with her boyfriend, Dr. Campbell and his kids, reading and watching old school reality television shows (just don’t tell anyone). Dr. Rawlins has a goofy black and white wire-haired terrier mix named Jack Henry who was rescued from a high kill shelter in Tennessee as well as two awesome cats, Atari and Stormin Norman (a Catsbury Park alum).
