Laura Louise Leanza (Dr. LLL) originally hails from Glen Ridge, New Jersey, where she started out as a BENNY, making frequent trips to visit her extended family and vacation here at the Shore. As a child she began her career rescuing bugs in her backyard, later branching out to volunteering at the local animal shelter and caring for her various other "siblings" as a human only child.
Laura enjoyed four years in the Philly area at Haverford College, where she obtained her BS in Mathematics, followed by a stint in New England at the Tufts School of Veterinary Medicine, finally reaffirming her Jersey Girl status in 2011.
Laura is happy to have the privilege to practice "Family Medicine" here at Oakhurst with special interests in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
In August she and husband, Michael, welcomed their second boy to the family and can't wait to take him on his inaugural beach cruiser bike ride this spring! Mom and the Blette Boys spend their time traveling near (weekending in the Catskills) and far (hiking in the Alps), proudly cheering for the Red Sox and Patriots, or making music.
Sadly, the Family just had to say goodbye to “Eartha Kitt-en”, a former stray hearkening back to Laura's Vet school days. This ever gentle, somewhat flighty, but patient girl tolerated everything from bossy Dachshunds to an overeager Labrador puppy, to two boisterous baby brothers. She always knew how to slink in and out of a room and only make herself known to her selected audience. The Leanza-Blettes can't wait to find the perfect dog and/or cat companion for their boys to grow up with.
