Dr. Thomasey was born and raised in Ocean Township, NJ. Growing up he spent most of his time enjoying the nearby beaches and exploring New York City. His interest in veterinary medicine started early, after getting his first dog, a black lab, in second grade. Throughout high school and college, his interest in biology and love for animals made becoming a veterinarian the perfect career choice. He began working at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital as a technician throughout college to get a better idea of what a day in the life of a veterinarian was like. He has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City. In 2015, Dr. Thomasey earned his D.V.M. degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Following graduation from veterinary school he returned to work at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, this time as an associate veterinarian. His interests include Preventative Medicine and Surgery.
When not working, Dr. Thomasey enjoys cooking, traveling, and running. He has completed 2 full marathons in the past few years. He also enjoys spending time with his boyfriend, who lives in Brooklyn, as well as his parents, siblings, and 4 nieces and nephews who all live in the area. He looks forward to meeting all the wonderful clients that pass through Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital with their pets every day.
