Dr. Ashley Levinson grew up in Morristown, NJ and attended Rutgers University. She left New Jersey for a short period of time for veterinary school at Tufts University - Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and promptly returned to her home state after graduation in 2016. She takes special interest in pain management, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Levinson focuses her efforts to provide low stress veterinary visits and advocates for cats and their unique needs to make visits more pleasant and informative. Being at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, she loves being able to offer the best medicine possible for her patients without compromising their happiness and comfort even in an unfamiliar environment. Veterinary visits can be scary when pets don’t understand what is happening and Dr. Levinson strives to eliminate stressors for pets and their owners so we can all focus on the best care for our family.
When outside of the hospital, Dr. Levinson turns her attention to her own family. She can be found anywhere outdoors with her dog, Chantilly, named for Crème Chantilly (whipped cream) and the color of her thick fur, but prefers to be called Tilly. Tilly is a Shepherd/Labrador mix who doesn’t seem to mind Dr. Levinson’s favorite activities of wandering through the woods, splashing through puddles or curling up somewhere warm on cold days. Her cat, Emma, on the other hand, prefers to lounge in her window and contributes to Dr. Levinson’s jigsaw puzzles by increasing the challenge (when she steals pieces and hides them around the house).
