Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital features a state-of-the-art intensive care unit designed for pets facing significant physical stress due to illness, injury, or post-surgical recovery. The unit's central location ensures continuous monitoring by our dedicated staff, recognizing the heightened sensitivity of recovering animals to environmental changes.
Each patient's vital signs are meticulously tracked and documented, including pain status, body temperature, weight, hydration levels, heart function, pulse rate, and blood oxygen levels. Advanced treatment technologies available in our ICU include climate-controlled environments, heated cages, oxygen enrichment systems, and IV fluid pumps as needed.
Visiting Your Pet in the Hospital
For over 30 years, we have maintained an open visitation policy, welcoming clients to visit their pets at any time during their hospital stay. While afternoon or evening visits are preferred, visits during our office hours are always encouraged. We believe in transparency and the importance of pet owners actively participating in their pet's recovery journey. Owners often notice subtle changes in behavior that indicate improvement, and we value their input in our care process.
