Matthew Schroeder

Dr. Matthew Schroeder's journey in veterinary medicine began in Brick, New Jersey, where his early passion for animals steered his career path. He attended the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Sciences in Manahawkin for high school before earning his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Taking time to explore the business aspects of veterinary care, he then pursued his D.V.M. degree at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada, graduating in 2020.

Dr. Schroeder joined Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital in 2020. His interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and fear-free handling of animals. With an understanding of the profound role pets play in families’ lives, he is dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond.

Outside of work, Dr. Schroeder spends his time with his wife, their daughter Lyla, and their pets: two cats named Mosaic and Bosco, and a dog named Meela.
